Hello! I'm Madison VanScoder — concert pianist, instructor, and lifelong student of the instrument. I've been at the piano since I was four years old, and with over a decade of experience in music education and performance, I founded Madison 88 Piano Studio to bring personalized, classically-grounded piano instruction to students of every age and stage.
My teaching draws on extensive classical training, jazz studies at Berklee College of Music, and a study programme at The Music Institute of Copenhagen. I'm a registered Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) teacher and a Steinway-affiliated instructor through Steinway Piano Gallery of Ohio. While piano is my heart and specialty, my background also spans voice, cello, and accompaniment — so I bring a well-rounded musicianship to every lesson. I specialize in music theory, composition, and piano technique — but more than anything, I'm passionate about cultivating a lifelong love for the art and meeting each student exactly where they are.
Lessons take place in my home studio in Stark County, Ohio, or in your home for students within 15 miles. A small travel fee applies for in-home lessons beyond 15 miles. I also offer virtual lessons over video — perfect for students with busy schedules, those outside my travel area, or anyone who prefers learning from their own piano at home.
Every student is different. Choose the lesson length that matches your goals, schedule, and attention span — and we can always adjust as you grow.
Lessons are billed monthly. Sibling discount — 10% off for additional children in the same family. Refer a friend — both you and your friend receive $5 off your next lesson when they enroll.
Pick a time that works for you and let's get started. I'll confirm lesson format (in-studio, in-home, or virtual) once you book.

Music is meant to be shared. My students have meaningful chances to perform, prepare for competitions, and collaborate with other musicians throughout the year.
All students are invited to perform in our biannual studio recitals — one in winter and one in summer. Recitals are a chance to celebrate progress, share music with family and friends, and build confidence on stage in a warm, supportive setting.
For students who want to take their playing further, I offer dedicated preparation for the Ohio Music Education Association Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Event. We'll select appropriate repertoire, refine technique and musicality, and prepare you to perform with confidence.
I provide skilled accompaniment for vocalists, instrumentalists, and student musicians preparing for OMEA, auditions, recitals, weddings, and church services. Decades of accompanying experience means thoughtful collaboration and reliable preparation.

Lessons are billed monthly. Send payment through whichever method is easiest for you — all four work the same on my end. Please include the student's name and the lesson month in the memo when you can.
Whether you're a complete beginner or returning to the keys after years away, I'd love to hear from you. Send a note and we'll discuss your goals, scheduling, and the lesson length that's right for you.
